Review & Refresh Retreats
2019 - 2020
2019 - 2020
We use a 9 X 9-foot multi-sensory mat which illustrates the five elements and their relationships to each other. The mat indicates their associated meridians and the Spiritual aspects of each element. Standing on this mat will deepen your understanding of Five Element Theory.
Five Element Theory was first written about in the 3rd century BCE. It has gone through many social transitions, when it was not in fashion. We will also learn something about Five Element Theory’s historical development.
Each retreat will focus on a specific element that is represented at that time of year. We will explore the resonances (vibrational signatures) of that element. The resonances of each element include a specific season of the year, climate, a color, sound, taste, odor, and a sense organ. They each also have a Yin and Yang organ meridian. The energy concentration is unique to each element both throughout the day and the year. In addition, each element represents emotions (extreme and synergic), as well as attitudes.
We will focus on the Spirit of the element to enhance our understanding of that element.
The meridians of each of the elements have acupoints which we will work with at each retreat. Each meridian also has a point (elemental point) on it that reflects each of the 5 elements and we will integrate this concept as well.
We will also work with the inter-relationships between the elements and how they both support and control one another. The Elements can inform us about ourselves and about our harmony/balance in our lives. As we notice the essence of each element, we can bring that essence into our everyday lives.
