Nancy L. Dennis is a registered nurse with a Bachelors Degree, majoring in anthropology, who lived, worked and studied for three years in a rain forest village in India, where she learned much about our inter-connectedness.

She served as Director of Nursing and Clinical Administrator in the mental health field for more than two decades. The programs she developed for children, adolescents and adults emphasized connection with their families, to their communities, to nature and the universe.

Nancy adopted five children from India. While searching for help for her children’s congenital health problems, she learned about the Shiatsu certification program at Meridian Shiatsu Institute. She completed certification in the Shiatsu program and had the opportunity to pursue further studies in Jin Shin Do®. Nancy has been teaching since 1998 and practicing both Shiatsu and Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® since 1996. 

A passion for Jin Shin Do® has been a top priority for Nancy over the past 10 years. She has established a very active group of JSD practitioners in DE and PA who meet regularly to share ideas, concepts and to expand public awareness and knowledge of JSD. Her energy and contagious enthusiasm has resulted in students coming from VA, MD, Washington D.C. and New Jersey. Nancy has also visited the JSD Training Center in Italy which serves as the base for all of Europe.

Michelle Lewis is a Licensed Massage Therapist, a Registered Jin Shin Do® Bodymind  Acupressurist®, and Authorized Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® Teacher. 

​After finishing massage school in 2010, Michelle began to study Jin Shin Do® with Nancy Dennis and continued her studies with Senior Teacher, Deborah Valentine-Smith, as well as Jin Shin Do®’s creator and founder, Iona Maarsa Teeguarten. Massage therapy was a wonderful introduction to bodywork. It has helped her identify purpose in working with clients in a holistic way to promote wellness. She has found JSD fulfills her own spiritual growth and her desire to move forward in her professional life.

Michelle looks forward to assisting in the expansion of Jin Shin Do® through practice, teaching and networking. She hopes to draw like-minded individuals, who are looking for a holistic path to get in touch with the bodies’ innate ability to bring healing and comfort back into daily life.
